Temporary Firefighter Summer 2026

Would you like to work as a temporary firefighter with us in the summer of 2026?

Sala-Heby Rescue Service is looking for four temporary firefighters for the summer period of 2026. After completing the introductory training, the positions will involve shift work during June, July, and August.

One of the summer positions may result in a fixed-term employment after the period, provided that the employee has demonstrated the required qualifications during the summer, is deemed suitable for the role, and integrates well into our organization.

We are an organization focused on the citizen, and our mission is to contribute to creating safety and security for those living and staying in the municipalities of Sala and Heby. We are responsible for rescue services as well as preventive activities, and within our area, there are approximately 36,000 residents. Sala-Heby Rescue Service was established in 1973, and we have about 110 employees distributed across one fully staffed station and 7 RIB units. The rescue chief, two fire inspectors, an operational manager, and a coordinator are located in Sala.

The municipalities of Sala and Heby are distributed across several urban areas, natural areas, lakes, large forest areas, cultural heritage buildings, industrial activities, a larger correctional facility, several national roads with heavy traffic, rail traffic, tourism industries, etc. The varied characteristics of Sala mean that there is a wide range of tasks that the rescue service faces, both related to rescue operations and preventive activities.

We are part of the Mitt Rescue Center, where we have operational cooperation and today also collaborate in the Eastern Svealand Rescue Region (RRÖS). RRÖS consists of thirteen rescue services that cooperate and jointly manage issues and projects related to our mission.
